Prioritizing Health and Safety at Every Step

At Shattuck-St. Mary’s International School Vietnam, the well-being of our students is our highest priority. We believe that a healthy student is a thriving student—able to learn, grow, and contribute positively to our community. Illness not only affects individual performance but can also impact the wider school environment. That’s why we take a proactive, professional approach to student health and safety.

Our on-campus School Health Center (SHC) is staffed by experienced, licensed nurses who provide immediate care and first aid during school hours. Whether it’s a minor injury, a sudden illness, or an ongoing medical concern, our SHC team is ready to support students and staff with compassion and expertise.

The SHC also:

  • Dispenses prescribed medications with parent and physician approval

  • Coordinates health protocols during campus events, including sports and outdoor activities

  • Monitors and responds to potential health risks affecting the school day

Beyond the SHC, we enforce comprehensive health policies that promote the well-being of our entire school community. These include:

  • Guidelines for student participation in outdoor activities based on weather and air quality

  • Strict protocols for managing food allergies

  • Clear procedures for when a student becomes ill during the day

Together, these efforts create a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive—mind, body, and spirit.
