Athletics & Centers of Excellence at SSM Vietnam

At Shattuck-St. Mary’s International School Vietnam (SSM Vietnam), we believe that athletics are an essential part of a well-rounded education. Our world-class facilities and expert coaching provide students with opportunities to grow through physical challenge, discipline, and teamwork.

Students enjoy access to an indoor swimming pool, fitness gym, tennis and pickleball courts, indoor basketball court, and a professionally designed golf driving range. These facilities encourage participation in both individual and team sports, promoting lifelong health, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

A hallmark of our athletic program is the development of Centers of Excellence (COE)—specialized training academies that offer elite-level coaching and pathways for students who wish to pursue a sport more seriously. These centers are designed to support talent development, competitive readiness, and even university scholarship opportunities.

For the upcoming school year, we are proud to launch our Golf Center of Excellence, featuring a full-length golf driving range and led by a PGA-certified coach. The program offers tailored instruction for students of all levels, helping them master core techniques, improve consistency, and prepare for regional and international competition.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand our COE offerings to include Fencing and Rowing, two disciplines that promote strategic thinking, endurance, and global collegiate appeal. These upcoming centers will provide professional training, dedicated facilities, and mentoring for students passionate about excelling in these sports.
