On October 27, Shattuck–St. Mary’s Vietnam was honored to welcome distinguished representatives from Shattuck–St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota, USA; our founding campus, established in 1858, with a proud 167-year legacy of academic excellence.
The visiting delegation included:
- Mr. Matt Cavellier, Head of School
- Mr. Nick Cobbett, Chief International Officer
- Mr. Andrew Garlinski, Director of Admissions
- Ms. Yoyo Zhang, International Liaison
The day began with a collaborative meeting between the leadership of both campuses, focused on strengthening academic alignment and exploring future student collaborations. Teachers exchanged insights on SSM Vietnam’s curriculum, extracurricular programs, and holistic educational approach that fosters creativity, confidence, and global citizenship.
As an extension of the SSM USA campus in Faribault, Minnesota, SSM Vietnam follows the same educational model and curriculum, including the WeCreate program and the Centers of Excellence that empower students to pursue their passions at a deeper level. Here in Vietnam, our first Center of Excellence is the PGA Golf Center, led by PGA member John Davison, which provides professional golf training alongside a strong academic foundation.
In the afternoon, representatives from SSM USA engaged with students, offering them the opportunity to learn more about the global Shattuck–St. Mary’s network, explore future study pathways in the United States, and share experiences from life and learning from our USA campus. The visit concluded with a special presentation for students, staff, and founding families, celebrating the enduring connection between the two campuses and their shared commitment to educational excellence. As Shattuck–St. Mary’s Vietnam has only recently opened its doors, this visit marks an exciting beginning—continuing the proud 167-year legacy of Shattuck–St. Mary’s education here in Vietnam.
